Bjerck holds a master degree in philosophy of the environment, culture and sustainability, obtained in 2007 from the University of Oslo, Centre for Development and the Environment (SUM). She has previously worked at the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) department of environment, infrastructure and energy (2007-2008). At SIFO Bjerck has been employed since april 2008 and has worked with issues concerning leisure consumption and the environment, as well as material culture and clothing practices. Bjerck is currently engaged as a research fellow at SIFO with a PhD affiliation at the Copenhagen Business School. The working title of her PhD project is “Uni-Form; Work clothes and uniforms for women in male dominated professions”, and is affiliated with the project of the same name financed by the Norwegian Research Council, Helly Hansen Pro. and the Norwegian Armed Forces (FLO).
